ROCKY MOUNTAIN OYSTERS:  ORIGINAL COWBOY CUISINE
Good Morning America Will Be Sampling Rocky Mountain Oysters As Seen On Taste of America

Morrison, CO –On Monday, January 30 The Fort’s famous Rocky Mountain Oysters will be featured on Good Morning America as a unique mountain flavor sampled by Mark Decarlo from the Travel Channel’s show Taste of America.  Mark Decarlo featured The Fort in an episode of Taste of America which ran throughout 2005 and Good Morning America has selected them as a highly watched installment to highlight on their Monday show.  Truly a one-of-a-kind dish, Chef Woolley prepares this delicacy in small bites which made with buffalo, battered and fried to a golden brown and served with a tangy “cocktail” sauce.

Rocky Mountain Oysters are a historical dish dating back to the 1840s when Bents’ cattle operations in the Arkansas River Valley would cook up and enjoy this meal during roundup time.  They were the original creators of the names, Rocky Mountain Oysters or Prairie Oysters.  The Fort restaurant is a replica of Bent’s Fort, a fur trading fort of the 1840s.  You can still enjoy this traditional cowboy cuisine; The Fort serves them as an appetizer available nightly for $7.95 a plate.

The Fort was recently named the “Top Dinner to Impress Visitors” by the Rocky Mountain News, and “One of Denver’s Top 5 Restaurants to Impress Out-of-Towners” by 5280 Magazine.  The Fort is located just 22 minutes southwest of downtown Denver on Highway 8, just north of the Highway 285 intersection.  Reservations are strongly encouraged.  For more information and or make reservations, call The Fort at 303-697-4771 or book online at www.thefort.com.
